It is best to keep a dog leashed when out and about in places where it's not familiar. Glad it survived.

this is a good example of why you should leash your dogs when you are in unfamiliar areas.

Man this is why you need to keep your dogs on a leash, not one of those retractable leads, but a genuine solid leash that doesn't allow your dog to haul off and jump into a chasm, or into/onto/what have you anything that might be a danger to them. Sheesh.

Just use your heads. Sometimes people are so wrapped in their own lives that they put their animals at risk. Of course there was the video of the little girl falling under the last rail of a fence and down the cliff. Horrible things do happen but just be cautious.

I'm glad to hear that dog survived with just a broken bone. Who knows what possessed the dog to jump over the wall like that. It's interesting that there are two dogs who did that in the same spot.

im very happy that this Kuna made it out with only a broken leg and a few scrapes. But i think it is so weird that the dog would just leap! Usually dogs have like a sense that they stick with...hmmmm, i wonder?

A mistake on his part yes, everyone makes them but clearly in knowing where he was he should of thought ahead of what could happen and this could of been avoided. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that it could of been one of his grandchildren that went over. Lucky that people risk their lives to help others and the vet. isn't going to charge him. Hope Shelby will be fine and limits her jumping to the couch!

While it may be true that this man should have had his dog on a leash and I'm sure in retrospect, he wishes he had leashed her. I'm sure his intent was not for his dog to be injured, he simply didn't think. I believe we need to focus our attention on the real criminals that intentionally harm animals. This guy made a mistake and most likely no one is more upset by it than he.
