We need to determine if this is a family friendly web site or not because our school children do not need to be reading about this perversion! If this article kept on zootoo, then we know that this is not a child friendly website.
While this article does not provide a video, as do some Petpulse news articles, there is not doubt that our children are playing these perverted scenarios in their minds. Zootoo, please let us know if we should continue to deem this a child friendly website or not.

1. The defendant's surrendered Max to Klamath County authorities and Max was placed with the Humane Society. The Humane Society has a number of tests that they perform on dogs before they are deemed suitable for placement in a new home. These tests are primarily designed to measure the dog's temperament towards humans and other animals. These tests are standardized nation-wide and do a good job of determining the suitability of an animal for placement. Max scored VERY poorly on these tests, being aggressive towards other animals and having other negative behaviors towards humans.
2. Klamath County does not have the same resources as those assigned to the Vick dog fighting case. As such, we did what we could with what we have available to us.
3. I am an animal lover: we have two dogs (one a rescue from an abusive home) two cats (both rescues) and a guinea pig (not quite a rescue - but the owners moved out of the county).
4. I prosecute all animal neglect and abuse cases in Klamath County.
5. My boss, Ed Caleb takes crimes against animals very seriously and has done so since he himself was a deputy DA. Mr. Caleb was closely involved in the resolution of this case.
6. I had extensive assistance from various animal rights/animal protection NPOs. Their assistance is greatly appreciated, particularly the assistance of Scott Heiser with the Oregon Animal Legal Defense Fund.
7. If you disagree with the current crime classification, please PLEASE contact your local legislator and encourage them to support changes to ORS 167.333.

Hopefully if one person who is doing this reads this story and stops then it is worth it.
Too bad they couldn't kill the people and save the dog.
