These are lucky dogs and I am glad they are OK. I would like to know more. For example, did this happen in the dog's yard or were they on the trails? Where was Loren when this happened? (No, I am not saying she was not watching her dogs or did anything wrong - just curious)

If a cougar pins a border terrier down - the skin wasn't broken? If the dog was pinned down - do you think he wil have any anxiety over it? I wonder if his behavior will change? Glad to hear they are allright - just hope they stay allright?

Seems like a 100 lb cat would do serious damage "pinning" down a 20 lb border terrier.

Thank God the dogs are doing well -- i hope the cougar finds his or her way to his or her natural habitat -- i like a win-win situation; i'm happy that both cougar and dogs are fine.

It is good to read that Chiquita and Rosie were unharmed and will live to bravely fight another day, but there is another side to this brief article. Why did the cougar wander into a small town. Hunger brought about by loss of habitat perhaps....

Good point...with all the growth & urban sprawl, the cougar's natural habitat has probably been destroyed. They're typically shy animals & wouldn't be attracted to populated areas unless it was a matter of survival.

Doesn't surprise me a bit. Small dogs scared off burglers that were trying to rob some neighbors. They succeeded a few weeks ago and those neighbors have 5 large dogs and the burglers gave them steak while they robbed the place. This little ones ignored the steak and went for the robbers!

I keep thinking about the beautiful, cougar. I hope that he or she is ok.I've seen them in person & they are amazing cats. I'm sure that used to be the big kitty's territory.

I understand that ppl want build a home or homes but I think that we should respect wildlife. We must all co_exist.

Well said. Poor kitty sees homes & concrete where its hunting grounds used to be. They are beautiful animals. I used to live on a ranch & they would migrate along the creek near our house.

True and maybe young & inexperienced too. Whatever the reason, the dogs were extremely lucky & their owner shouldn't take that for granted. They're not tough enough to fend off every cougar or other wild animal.
