New Organic Pet Line a Natural Fit for Cesar Millan

Browse News

SAN DIEGO – Renowned canine behaviorist Cesar Millan, who is most commonly known by his moniker “the Dog Whisperer,” launched his new line of dog water and vitamins and a program to aid dogs in need at the Global Pet Expo in San Diego, Calif.

During an exclusive interview with Pet Pulse reporter Annabella Asvik, Millan explained how fortified organic water and supplements were a natural fit since he considers his training methods to be organic as well.

“It’s something that I stand for, I practice all organic exercise,” said Millan. “Discipline, affection, is all organic to me; it represents what dogs do in a natural habitat.

“And so if we combine exercise, discipline affection with food, water and supplements that’s only going to intensify the balance that we are going to create.”

The “Dog Whisperer” brand products offer canines that same benefits humans get from multi-vitamins and organic foods.

Among the products in the "Dog Whisperer" line are organic wet and dry dog food, treats and chews, fortified water, liquid supplements, collars and leashes, toys, grooming products, beds, bowls, feeding supplies and an instructional series of DVDs. Eventually the product line is expected to include more than 100 products all developed to create happy, healthy and balanced dogs.

“Everybody’s loving it, everybody’s very healthy,” he said.

As part of the product launch, the Cesar & Ilusion Millan Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to aid and support the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of abused and abandoned dogs, is making a donation of $2500 to The Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas, California.

Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from sales of all “Dog Whisperer” merchandise will be contributed to the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation for distribution to animal shelters across the country.

“To me, animal shelters and rescue organizations represent a lot for my karma,” said Millan. “You know, if you do good, good things happen. So if you take care of the world, the world will take care of you. And when you’re working with animals, good energy is a must.”

He went on to say that organic foods id just common sense.

“If we combine common sense with great food and great products,” Millan said. “I think we will have great balanced dogs.”

I love Cesar's approach to dogs and life. Many people may not be able to buy his products but the ones that can afford it wil. That is noce that the money is going to help dogs!! He is very selfless!!

I find Caesar's product line disturbing. I've looked at his stuff at Petco and it's all ridiculously priced and you know that's just because it has his name on it. And now he's selling water, no doubt for several dollars more a bottle than you can buy "human" water? No thanks!

I am glad about the donation of some of the proceeds. I saw his products at Petco and they seemed overpriced to me.

Wow. I can't endorse the purchase of bottled water and fortified water for humans. Tap water is more stingently regulated then bottled water. Tap water is regulated under the clean water act, while bottled water is regulated by the FDA and the standards are not as strict.

I looked at at a bunch of the comments made by others and I'm actually surprised at how many people really like Ceasar. Personally I believe that there is much better training advice out there from positive reinforcement experts. I find Ceasar to be more "made for television" and find his show to be entertainment and not necessarily a good source of information.

I guess he has his following and is capitalizing on it.

I suppose he's doing a lot of good but I really don't like this guy's program. And what the heck is fortified water?! Drink it from the tap you idiot. There a millions of people around the world dying because they lack access to safe water and you're selling water for dogs. Get your values in order!

Who has this kind of money to spend in today's economy. Perhaps Cesar should start to donate some of the money he is making to shelters instead of having his marketing people develop organic water - water that no one can afford.
