PENNSYLVANIA – A Centerville Pennsylvania home was likened to a concentration camp yesterday when 84 dogs were found there in horrible conditions.
60 living and 24 dead animals were taken by police and humane officers – who said they found dogs in every corner of the property, including an incinerator.
The home is owned by Lore Massey, who claims she was running a rescue and breeding operation, but says she got in over her head.
She voluntarily gave up the animals during Tuesday's raid – but officers said this is the second time Massey has been cited. She was found not guilty in 2006 for running an illegal breeding operation.
There was reportedly no food or water available to the animals, except in one cage – and feces filled the over-crowded pens.
The animals were brought to a local shelter where if healthy, they will be put up for adoption.
