The training these dogs go through is hard and I applaud the trainers for the amount of time and patience it takes. not only does the person get companionship but also a dog that will assist them with every day tasks.

Canine Companions for Independence is such a blessing to me. They gave me my current service dog, Jen II, and we graduated February 16, 2008. We just retested today and are now officially a Public Certified Service Team! I can't wait to take Jen to school with me so that my classmates can see Jen in action and learn all about CCI and the services they provide for people like me.

I think the dedicated people who train dogs to be service dogs are very commendable. This is a service that is needed and if more dogs were available, more people would be able to live independently
