Four-legged film stars honored at annual ceremonies.

While their human costars gear up for the red carpet at this weekend’s Academy Award ceremonies, many animal celebrities have already walked — and galloped and swam — away with awards of their own.

And leading the pack of honored animals is breakout star Uggie from Best Picture nominee The Artist. Although many fans felt that Uggie had been overlooked for an Oscar nomination, the performing pooch earned two recent accolades for his work.

At the Golden Collar Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, Uggie won “Best Dog in a Theatrical Film.” The event, sponsored by Dog News Daily, took place for the first time on Feb. 13.

And the American Humane Association also honored the Jack Russell — a shelter rescue — with a Pawscar for “Best Scene Stealer.”

The Pawscar Awards, started four years ago, shine the spotlight on those films that have earned an important distinction: the "No Animals Were Harmed" disclaimer from the American Humane Association. Other movies that received Pawscars include Mr. Popper’s Penguins and Dolphin Tale.

He is cute and I didn't know about him until some one said he was a video game spokes dog and I thought they said it was Oogie and I was so excited when they said that but Later on found out they prounced the name wrong and it was Uggie I wish Oogie would be more recgonized too cause he is a pittbull and was abused and I think is now disabled but some one adopted him and fell in love with him the pittbull breed would be liked more then I love them they are sweet dogs.
