Snakes are very beautiful in their own right. However, I just don't see a 15' python as a best friend type. I sure wouldn't take any chances and sleep with it near me at night.

This is alittle differnt, the snake is a wild animal, I have to wonder if it is the same snake and if it is why did it come back,I really not sure that a 15 ft python is good for a small boy, I hope they supervise him

I have a great respect for snakes and I want children to be open and respectful of them, but I wouldn't let a young boy play with an adult python. It is just too dangerous and this is a wild animal, pet or not.

My brother is a lot like the boy in this story, and he has a hard time trying to wrap his mind around the fact that my family is not one to own snakes. However, you take him hiking, or even in our backyard in the summer, and he can find a snake.
I am glad this father is pretty open minded to the bond his boy and the snake have created. I think the relationship was more dangerous when the boy was smaller, and maybe the father is more at ease now that his son is growing to look less like a tasty treat.

Not all animals should be pets....and I am not conviinced this snake should be. However, it is interesting to read how possibly the snake is capable of forming a bond with a human to such a degree.

I am not a fan of snakes to begin with. I would be so concerned about this. There are too many stories about snake owners that have become victims of their pets. Maybe there is a connection here, but it is still a wild animal.

Snakes can have some of the best personalities. They are easy to care for if you have the knowledge. I think this is great. It's about time reptiles got a good rep. Not all are bad. If you know what you are doing and take the time to know what you are getting into they can be the best pets. My god daughter has grown up with them and I find they are her favorite animals even thou she has cats, dogs, and a pet rat. Her favorite is her turtle and snakes. She asks to hold them more than she asks for the furry animals.
