I remember hearing about this story when Lex finally got to go home to his handler's family, and I was thrilled that the military did the right thing in allowing Lex to retire as a companion and heal his deceased handler's family.

I think Lex will be a huge help to the family. Since he was the last link to their soldier-it will be very comforting to have him around. My deepest sympathy to this family for their loss, and best of luck to Lex-have a happy life, you've earned it.
