It's always great to see celebrities raise money for causes that benefit animals.

This is a very uplifting story. It made my day! I love to hear positive stories like this one where someone is trying to make a difference. I can see the connection with the pit and the pig because my nephew has a pit bull that is so fat her body resembles that of a pig. Of course, her face and tail don't! Bernadette Peters, keep up the good work. I think I might buy some of these books to give at baby showers.

Pitt bulls are great dogs I love them and all other dogs as well. You know pitt bulls are like number 9 on the bite poll right now and number one is the golden retriver which makes no sense to me. The people who do the bite polls don't even test the breeds of dogs like they need to all they do is put the breeds at top that there are alot of that are no longer popular breeds of dogs. I for one have seen more people get bitten by chiauhauhs than I have seen people get bit by pitt bulls.

It is only a story, but why choose a pig as the "alter ego"? Some people may have negative views of pit bulls, but there is also quite a stereotype about pigs (or "being a pig"). I think the story would have been more effective if the dog were portraying himself as something more "neutral" (non-stereotypical).
