The more information one has before they adopt, the better chances are that it will be a successful match.

Watched the video, but can't figure out how to "discuss" it, so I read it as well. Great idea! I'm sure many new pet owners will find the info very worthwhile.

When I adopted my dog back in January the shelter had these DVDs. They gave me the one called 'training your adopted dog'. It had a lot of useful tips on training and caring for your dog. I think these are great.

What a good idea. Get this into the hands of everyone who adopts or buys a dog. You know, I have always owned animals since I was a little girl. We always had at least 3 dogs at all times when I was little. As an adult I am now in my 2nd ownership of a dog. You can never learn enough! Just like kids. I am on my 3rd child, still learning.....they are all different!

My kids love animal planet. Not only do they like the programs on the "wild" animals, but when they watch the emergency vet shows and the like, it helps them get a better understanding that animals are just like people in that they needs help and need to see the doctor too.
