Airlines Strengthen Pet Travel Safety Programs

My pets ONLY fly Continental (2 cats and a dog). They have been back and forth from California to New York twice with Continental due to job relocations when there was no time to drive them.

i would never put my pets in cargo. i would rather pay a friend to take care of them at home

I really don't like the idea that my pet would be checked in as cargo. I need to have my furbaby within my sight!

i agree i was on a flight back from florida and people acorss the isle had a tiel in a carry cas on their lap. he was very chatty and everyone enjoyed him

Any improvement(s) would be a plus.

I'm not sure I understand what is meant by "tracking" the pets. If it is similar to tracking packages sent through the USPS or delivery trucks like UPS, this would only enable the owners to have an idea WHERE the pet is at a particular time, not whether the pets are still alive or will be DOA.

IF there were a LIVE video of the pet cargo area and owners (as well as airline personnel) could actually monitor their pets during their flights, then there would be an increased ability for someone on the plane to quickly intervene if/when a problem is witnessed--that is, if the owners WATCH their pets while aboard and are able to immediately contact someone on the plane.
