I have always carried a high level of respect for NSAL...I love the fact that they are absolutely "no-kill!"

I agree, Kris! It gives us a better perspective on celebrities that are always doing something nice regarding animal organizations or other important ones as well.

For some reason I thought this shelter was in New York. Maybe it was that Howard Stern news piece on this shelter that made me think that. Is zootoo recycling news stories snow? Now that is a way to go "green"! In a way, the Howard Stern news piece gave more info. (I will have to go back and read it since it was sooooo long compared to this news article.)
Like my house, this shelter has a lot of black cats needing homes.
Isn't Nevada the "Silver State"? This news piece could have been titled "Silver in the Mountains". Oh, but wouldn't want to confuse the largest no-kill shelter in the US with a pet "spa" in southern CA.

I commend you for your fostering of kitties! I absolutely admire anyone that does fostering...It is truly a wonderful service for so many homeless babies!

It is the North Shore League who sponsors the shelter in Lake Tahoe, NV. They are a far reaching organization who helps where no one else will. Tahoe is CA and North and South shore so it is spread around with no county connections. North Lake Tahoe is in Washoe County so any animals would have to go a long way to get any help so North Shore was asked to come in and they did. Thank God!

Peggy, I absolutely agree! Perhaps, with celebrities speaking out, people will become more aware of the homeless pets in shelters across the country and adopt some!

The "article" is just soooo long that I haven't finished reading it yet. I'll have to spend a few more hours reading it before I can comment.
~ Please be patient while I am uploading that article ~

That's possible (or highly probable), but I didn't get to that part of the story yet. I'm almost done reading, though.
