A new calendar aims to help rescue animals in search of homes.
12 studly men and 12 cuddly cats for adoption—it could be a dream come true for animal lovers. Now, it’s part of the nationwide search for the new faces of the “6 Packs/9 Lives” calendar, designed to help rescue animals.
More than 100 men have already submitted entries in the global cat campaign and calendar. And on June 5, about 40 auditioned in-person at the casting held in Downey, California, at the South East Area Animal Control Area.
The global casting still continues. A final casting call will take place on July 10 in Hollywood, and the top 24 finalists will be announced the week of July 12th on the Found Animals website, www.FoundAnimals.org.
“This calendar and the men that appear in it will bring much needed attention to an issue that’s become a national, yet still silent, epidemic," said Aimee Gilbreath, executive director of Found Animals Foundation. "Through this initiative we’ll be able to find homes for countless animals and encourage people everywhere to visit their local municipal shelters to adopt their first or next pet."
The innovative calendar—the first ever to feature men and cats—is the result of a collaboration between Found Animals and award-winning celebrity fashion photographer Adam Bouska. The campaign strives to saves lives by bringing attention to the millions of shelter cats in need of homes nationwide.
The "6 Pack/9 Lives" calendar campaign highlights the issue of overcrowded cat populations in shelters nationwide by using a "fun and sexy medium," Gilbreath said.
