I like watching the cat shows because I am very ignorant to the different cat breeds out there. It is great to be able to learn some of the breeds and their traits while watching. Even though I am not a cat person, it is fun to watch and learn.

I've gone to a small cat show once and it was kinda interesting...but it sure smelled like one big litter box. It is fun to see all the different breeds of cats, but the owners were a little strange I thought as they didn't want you to even touch at all their animals most of the time.

After awhile, all of the cats (and dogs) within a breed look the same to me, so I get bored with these shows

After watching the "reality" cat shows, it makes me just scratch my head and say "why can't cats just be cats".

I've watch cat shows on TV and these cats are indeed pampered animals. They just sit there and get brushed and pampered and powdered and etc. It is so interesting.

It would take a special personality in a cat to sit still for this pampering!

I'm happy that cats have their day in the sun too! And hopefully they enjoy all that bathing. It's very responsible and fair for them to have a shelter booth, I'm encouraged by that.

Didn't really realize they had these contests for cats. Large number of contestants it seems. I suppose it would be ok to go to if you are a cat lover.

I've been to a few cat shows. The judging was boring but I enjoyed all the cat items in the vendors' booths and the rescue cats available for adoption. The owners are the only ones getting anything out of the cat shows. No money is awarded to owners, they only receive ribbons. The more ribbons awarded for a cat, the more money the owners can ask for the offspring of the cat. Just like pure breed dogs, pure breed cats are dumped at shelters too.
