EIGHTY-FOUR, Pa. - A cat currently in the care of the Washington Area Humane Society will have surgery to remove an extra leg.
Shelter officials say the female feline, named Babygirl, was surrendered on Jan. 19. The person who dropped her off said the cat was stray.
Of Babygirl's five legs, two will need to be removed. But other than that she's in good health. The operation is expected to improve her quality of life.
Surgery has not yet been scheduled.
On top of the medical care, Babygirl also needs a permanent home. Shelter reps say people have called to ask about the cat's condition, but no one has offered to adopt her yet.

I just saw a thing on the news about a sheep with an extra leg. I wonder if it is happening more often or if we just hear about it more now.
