FLORIDA – Someone in Flagler, Florida has been shooting local dogs with a bb gun – and pet owners aren't happy about it.

Humane Society reps say there are better ways to complain about animals – they believe the shooter has some kind of grievance with the animals.

So far, four dogs have been brought in with similar injuries – one had as many as nine Bb's embedded in his skin – one of which was lodged in the bone between the eyes.

Vets warn that if not treated, this type of wound can cause life threatening infections.

Authorities say pet owners should not let their dogs go out unattended. They say the shooter could face felony animal cruelty charges.

It's a bad situation all around - the inhumane shooter(s) and owners who let their dogs roam and expose them to any number of possible tragedies - being hit by car, attacked by other animals, etc.
