We run a parrot rescue out of our home. We do not charge any intake fees or outgoing adoption fees of any kind. We have been rescuing parrots for 20 years. We are located in Mio, M. I. but we cover the entire state. We run our rescue with a different twist than others. Instead of keeping tons and tons of birds waiting for homes what we do is have people fill out adoption applications in advance. We will approve or deny them as they come in. Then as we get a call for a bird that needs a home, like a cockatoo for instance, we will call the next approved person for a cockatoo and so on and so forth. As long as they get along with the bird and the bird gets along with them then they get to adopt. If they do not get along then the next person on the list is moved up, and the one that didn't get along with this bird get to try again on the next bird. We understand that life sometimes throws you a curveball. Due to foreclosure, illness, death in the family, a move, divorce, job loss, etc, you either must give up your parrot, or maybe you've been left with a parrot of someone else?s and you either can't or don't want to keep it. We are a safe nonjudgmental place to come to place that parrot. Please do not abandon a parrot; I will make sure that it goes to a loving, healthy home. Contact me and I can help.
