Congrats to Top 20 and thanks to the "top cat"

Congratulations to the Top 20 finalists, as you prepare for your visits in the next few weeks from the judges' panel. All of you worked so hard for so long and I just wish that every shelter could get a makeover.
Thank you to the "Top Cat" of Zootoo, Mr. Thompson, for conceiving and bringing about this website and the makeover idea. For a ground-breaking concept, and creating a website that had to handle an extraordinary level of "traffic" and usage, it is remarkable that there were so few service interruptions and no meltdowns.
Our shelter ended up at number 21 in the final tally, just out of the running. We were on pins and needles for a few days, as Mr. Top Cat and other Zootoo officials called us and made preliminary arrangements just in case the quality assurance process bumped us up a notch. Unfortunately that was not to be.
But we appreciate Mr. Top Cat and the other Zootoo officials who were so encouraging, even as our supporters went into a depression at the end of the contest when over 50,000 points were deducted without any clear explanation of why. We got into the contests very early on, and saw that rules were changed as the contest progressed. It was not clear if points were deducted retroactively for things that ocurred before the rules revisions.
Nevertheless, we are grateful for meeting so many fellow animal welfare advocates. It is helpful to know so many others care so much for the animals in their communities.
