I am constantly losing my metal water bottle holder. I would recommend that you keep some extras on hand in case you lose the one you have. Only one comes with each bottle, so if you lose it, you're stuck. I've seen people attach bottles, with rubber bands and paper clips, but if the rubber band breaks and you aren't at home, your pet won't have water. I've tried making them out of cut hangers, but the edges are sharp and it's hard to bend them. Better to buy these and keep on hand.

I got this and at first we just had a solid glass aquarium for our rats, so no place to really secure it. We figured out a way to use it though and it's the best holder out there!!
