For treat time only
posted 4 years ago
We receive a lot of donations of small pet treats. Occasionally at events, volunteers will bring these, too, to give to the guinea pigs that are up for adoption. Some guinea pigs like yogurt, but it contains calcium. Added calcium can lead to bladder and kidney stones. I'd stick with a basic diet of timothy based pellets, unlimited hay, fresh water and veggies for treats.
Pros: If they like them, give sparingly
Cons: yogurt has calium; in excess can lead to stones
