This was a mistake to bu

posted 6 years ago

I bought these for Mortimer, my first rabbit. He really enjoyed them, but then he got really sick. I took him to the vet, and the vet said that it was because of the Alfalfa Slims and some other Vitakraft treats I was giving him. It blocked up his tummy and gave him "GI Stasis." So our experience with Alfalfa Slims was not good, and I hope others will find my recounting this experience to be helpful.

Pros: tastes good

Cons: can make rabbits sick

Candy for rabbits

posted 7 years ago

Most rabbits already get too much alfalfa from their pellets - too many calories and calcium. They don't need even more from their treats.

Pros: None

Cons: Not good for your rabbit

Alfalfa is only good for young rabbits. My rabbits like the taste of these, but they aren't very good for them.

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
