My bunnies love this

posted 5 years ago

My previous bunny had a lot of digestive upset that resulted in a chronically messy rear, which was distressing for all of us. I adopted my new bunnies from Midwest Rabbit Rescue, where they were fed this product and had no such problems. Since they were doing so well on it, I have kept them on this food, and they enjoy it very much. It has nutritional supplements and no animal products.

Pros: My bunnies enjoy this food very much.

Cons: Based on alfalfa rather than timothy hay

Shelter sent this home with bunny

posted 5 years ago

this is an alfalfa-based pellet, which means it's best for young or pregnant rabbits. most adults don't need the extra protein and calcium. however, my Muffin was rescued from a backyard breeder/neglect situation, and she needed to gain some weight, so the shelter put her on this. she gained the weight back well, and now that she's at her forever home, i've put her on normal timothy pellets. it's a good choice for some bunnies, but not for most healthy adults.

Pros: good for gaining weight or babies/pregnant moms

Cons: too much protein and calcium for healthy adult rabbits
