I have found that my ferret who I got as an adult was not trained to use a litter pan and he was not about to learn to use a litter pan once I got him either. He learn to unhook the pan from the cage and tip it over and than he would do his thing in the corner. I tried treats and leaving his waste in the litter pan for him to get use to the pan, but after one year of trying the pan, I get tried of picking up the mess off the stand and floor and stated using the litter pan as the scoop for the Clean litter that is to be put into the cage after I clean it. I believe that if you use this Litter Pan for a kit that it can and will use the litter pan and will not tip it over, but if you adopt an adult ferret that had no training before than you are in for some rocky roads ahead, which means you may or may not train your ferret to use the pan. The pan is a great size and height for a ferret and he seems to be comfortable getting in and out of it. Just wish he would have used it. Make sure you secure the pan to the cage properly,so the ferret cannot tip the pan over so easily.

This product is good to put in the corner of a ferret cage. It does get a bit smelly though as the poop often sticks to it.

We have had these types of litter pans before but they are not very effective. Especially, with Cece and Ivan. Cece can't even fit in these because of her splay legs. The box is too small for her so we donated ours to Midwest Rabbit Rescue and Rehome.

When I bought this, I thought it was clever and would work extremely well. However, it turned out to be too small to be useful (for a Dutch Rabbit). Maybe it would work better for smaller pets, but I think a larger version is needed. It would also be better if both sides were as high as the back; litter gets scattered out the sides and even toward the back where the sides are low.
