Great for nesting birds

posted 4 years ago

Tried this bedding/nesting material for the first time a few months ago, and my Zebra Finches seem to enjoy it immensely. They've "redecorated" their nests with it several times since then. (I'd imagine it would be good litter material, but haven't used it as such.)

I stuff Eco-Bedding into a hanging metal cage and let the finches pull it out as they choose (which is often!). It can be messy when it's scattered or drops to the bottom of the cage, but cleanup is easy and it doesn't create the "dust" that some other paper-based nesting material does--better for the birds!

Another bonus: it's made of 100% recycled paper, according to the manufacturer: http://www.fibercorellc.com/eco-bedding.cfm. I recommend it highly.

Pros: Easy to use, hygienic, and non-toxic

Cons: Can be a bit messy, but cleanup is easy

Loooove it

posted 5 years ago

My girls (and boy) love this bedding, they nest in it and get a lot more playful with it than they ever did with Carefresh. It's far less dusty than other beddings, and everything falls to the bottom for easy spot cleaning in between litter changes. Plus, it's much cheaper than other beddings at my local Petco, and it expands so much that it will last a lot longer.

Pros: Nesty, expands, cheap

Cons: Doesn't help smell much.

Good for guinea but expensive

posted 5 years ago

I liked this for our guinea pig but found it was more expensive than the Care Fresh. Ideally I would like to mix the 2 products. There were also wet spot at teh bottom of the cage because the bedding didn;t absord the urine like Care Fresh does.

Pros: no dust, no smell

Cons: expensive, doesn;t absorb as well

Great Bedding!

posted 5 years ago

Great for small animal bedding. It's natural and comfortable for small animals. It also lasts longer than cedar or pine.

Pros: Lasts longer than cedar or pine

Cons: a little more expensive than the other brands
