Natural Carefresh pet bedding provides a safe, comfortable environment for your small pet.

June 29, 2010 1:05 pm | By Zootoo Editor Mary T.

Choosing bedding for your small pet always requires careful balancing. Smell or no smell? Cost or quality?

Fortunately, the Carefresh pet bedding solves these dilemmas admirably - as well as similar products on the market. The smell is mild, and while some might object to the woody aroma, the product's lack of oils keeps the scent to a minimum.

Also, the bedding is made from reclaimed wood pulp and is free of chemicals, guaranteeing a safe, healthy environment for your small pet.

Pros: Natural ingredients keep animals safe while providing a comfortable, healthy atmosphere.

Cons: Smell is mild, but may be off-putting to some owners. Cost is higher than comparable products due to the high-quality components.

Carefresh is Not Safe If Eaten!

posted 2 years ago

I have been "googling" Carefresh and problems with pets eating it, and I've discovered that on the Carefresh website itself, a vet says that Carefresh is not intended to be eaten. Check out http://www.carefresh.com/ask-a-vet/, where one of her responses is: "Actually eating the bedding is NOT safe and would put your pet at a risk of intestinal blockage."

The reason I'm looking into this is that our dog is eating the Carefresh that gets flung out of our guinea pig's cage, and he has recently been having gastrointestinal trouble. Sigh. I really like Carefresh as a bedding, but not if it is hurting my dog.

Pros: It's Great Bedding

Cons: If Eaten, It Can Cause Blockages
