My 14 year old cat was injured really bad last winter. She had horrible cuts and actually was missing toes on her one foot from being in a car and not hearing when someone started the engine. We didn't know she was up in there and really aren't sure still who or when it happened. She was an outside cat and did NOT want inside. She had grown deaf tho.

After some time with the vet and being gently cared for at home, she did pass away but only because she was so much better and played. She had a stroke.

ANYHOW - we used this in her litterbox so she didn't hurt her little paws. She really liked it and even tried to sleep in it for awhile - then we got her this tiny bed and she would lay in it.

This was the best product and I can't say how good it was for her and how happy I was there was something that I Could use for her.

Products like this and Carefresh bedding are great for rabbits and rodents. They are very absorbant and are completely safe.

I hadn't heard of these until someone i know who works with large amounts of rodents told me about it. It does wonders for keeping odor down, my mouse loves its "bed making ability" or at least seems to lol. I can change it once a week without having odor issues.

While this type of bedding is very absorbable it doesn't do much for the smell, like it says on the package. It also might feel better for little critters to run around on since it is soft unlike the cedar chips.
