Awesome!

Oxbow Vitamin C tablets have made my life so much easier. I don't have to worry about the Guinea Pigs getting scurvy, because I know they are getting all the Vitamin C that they need everyday thanks to these tablets.

The health of my Guinea Pigs has improved greatly since I made the switch from Vegetables to Tablets since it is not the easiest to measure the exact amount of vegetables you need to give them the right amount of vitamin c.

It took some adjusting with 2 of my Guinea Pigs, but it was easy to show them that it tasted good. They tried them finally and now they love them. However, sometimes I have to pick up one of my girls [Valentine], because she sometimes won't eat it. I just gently turn her on her back and grip her very gently with one hand. With the other hand I offer the treat to her. For some reason she usually prefers to eat the treat this way...almost as if she is saying "I NEED TO EAT ON MY BACK AND YOU NEED TO WATCH ME!"

If you find that the Guinea Pigs aren't eating them when you offer. You can put an open container up to their nose and wait until they sniff it. Hopefully they will take one and eat it. If that still doesn't work try the method I use with Valentine [above].

And if you're still not satisfied like I am, then you can always purchase Vitamin C Tablets from your local pharmacy. Make sure they have NOTHING except Vitamin C in them. It's okay if there's more than 50mg of vitamin c in a tablet, because the excess will just get washed out in their urine. Make sure you give them at least 50mg of vitamin c per day though.

I love this product, again it has made my life so much easier!

Pros: you know they're getting enough vitamin c,no more worrying about vegetables going bad, no more measuring and cutting vegtables, long lasting, affordable price.

Cons: if you have a picky eater you will need to turn them on their back VERY gently and put the tablet in their mouth to make sure they eat it.

If your guinea pigs eat them, great!

I don't ever use drop vitamins, as they get wasted in the water. Chewable tablets are great if your guinea pig eats them. If you have more than one in a cage, watch to make sure another one doesn't steal it from the other. I prefer to buy human vitamin C tablets when they are on sale and crush them in a pill crusher. I sprinkle it on their romaine and they eat every bit. Excess vitamin c is expelled so there isn't a worry about overdose. I just use a small sprinkle. If cost is a concern to you, humans tablets will save you money.

Pros: tasty, easy to administer

Cons: expensive

Good product

I have seen a couple of g pigs at my clinic eat these as a treat. My g pig is not so easily fooled. If I crush a tablet and sprinkle it on his pellets or greens he doesn't mind though. I guess he is just picky!!

Pros: very healthy

Cons: wont eat

My guinea pigs don't like the taste.

I don't know why but my Guinea Pigs prefer the chewable orange flavored human tablets (I break them up into the correct dosage for each GP). I think it's just a fluke, because Oxbow makes the best products.

Pros: oxbow makes excellent products

Cons: My Guinea Pigs don't seem to like these tablets
