First wire crate

posted 6 years ago

I was a 'airline' crate owner until I met Pablo. After a couple of days watching him try to gnaw his way out I purchased a Midwest wire crate for him. He loves it! Apparently the other styles were too confining. I had never owed a wire crate and loved it instantly. Add a couple of fleece blankets and he's set. It is his safety zone when he needs a nap or wants to be undisturbed. It is easy to take on trips and safe in the car. I put a bath mat under it to protect the floors. Pan comes out easily for cleaning and no other maintainence has been needed.

Pros: Open, easy to clean, still cozy, easy to transport

Cons: None

Good crate

posted 5 years ago

The life stages midwest crates are great. They come with dividers so the crate can grow with the dog. They also have two doors so that you can position the crate between other objects and still open a door. The best part is that they are so easy to set up. If you have ever tried to assemble a drop pin crate, you will understand how wonderful it is to just unfold this one. The only drawbacks to the crate are that there is not a door on the top (I've seen this on other crates and it would be quite handy) and the plastic pans can easily crack. It would be better if they would use a coated metal pan in the the bottom rather than a plastic pan.

Pros: easy to set up

Cons: pans tend to crack

Great crate

posted 6 years ago

i just purchased this crate - my dog likes it and it set up pretty easily. i love that there are 2 doors - my only concern is that there is a little bit more give at the tops & bottoms of the side door than i would like - this would be solved if there were 2 latches instead of 1.

Pros: great size, price, and 2 doors is a plus

Cons: doors have some give at tops & bottoms

Good sturdy crate

posted 6 years ago

Brady doesn't use his crate anymore at our house. But...when he goes to stay at grandmas...his crate goes with him. It travels well and folds up easily. A really good product.

Pros: Fold up easy

Cons: none
