This leash would go on a male rat rather than females as the boys are always bigger. The package says it can be used on young ferrets. It also says "When you walk your pet you are the follower and NOT the leader! Let your pet lead the way."
It is fun to walk a rat. Actually it was more like the rat goes explore and I hold on. I couldn't use this leash so I made my own.
I think the design and colors are gaudy. They should make plain colors. Otherwise a great idea for owners to 'connect' to their small pets.
Pros: Good idea
Cons: May work for large rats
