We used these covers and the metal covers at the pet shop I worked for. This type of cover locked on tightly with the screws that come with it. The access door was nice to have so the entire top did not have to come off. This prevented a tank full of Anoles from escaping into the store while you tried to capture one. I would suggest the metal cover for rodents because they chewed on these covers.
Pros: Convenient door.
Cons: Can be chewed if used for rodents.
