This is a radient heat source and creates a natural sun-like heat with a uniform pattern. The long wave infrared heat produced by this emitter will warm reptiles very efficiently. It also increases the ambient air-temperature in the terrarium. Infared heat penetrates the scales and skin tissue, promoting health and healing as it widens the blood vessels and increases blood circulation.Other features include: innovative design, 99% heat efficiency; no light emitted, does not disturb normal photo periods (daynight); solid ceramic element, suitable for humid environments. This heat emitter must be used with a clamp lamp or reflector dome that has a porcelain socket

Great for beardies

posted 5 years ago

I use these on most of my tanks in addition to UVA/UVB lights. These assure I'm maintaining proper temperatures over night without interupting my dragons sleep patterns. They also last for years. The only problem I've had with them is it's difficult to tell when they do die. Since they don't produce light, you won't notice they are not working unless you check them every day, or until you notice a drop in tank temperature.

Pros: Does not produce light

Cons: Another lamp for light and UVA/UVB is needed

Shouldn't be used alone

posted 5 years ago

Snakes and other reptiles need full spectrum lighting to support healthy bone growth. This lamp provides heat, which is also very important but reptiles should also have real light to provide UV rays during the day.

Pros: Provides heat

Cons: does not provide UV light

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
