Clamp-Lamp-tastic!

posted 5 years ago

The Fluker's Clamp-Lamp (or any other similar model, for that matter) is the herp-lover's best friend. The extra large directing hood makes it easy to switch between many different styles of bulbs and heating elements to better suit your needs. The clamp has a good grip and won't slip on even a very smooth surface. Also, the rubber coated clamp won't leave any mars, marks, or otherwise damage the surface whether it be polished metal, wood, plastic, paint, you name it! What I personally like about the Fluker's model is that it is black which in my opinion, looks nicer than unpainted metal finish varieties.

Along with a lamp guard, the clamp-lamp is perfect for even the inside of terrariums!

Pros: directs heat well, neat looking

Cons: not very different to any other brand

Great for providing extra heat

posted 5 years ago

Clamp lamps are the classic tool for adding heat lamps or ceramic heaters to a reptile tank, though most often they are set on the tank's screen lid and the clamp itself goes unused - though I have found that the clamp can be used to help keep the cord away from hot parts.

Pros: Easy to use, last nearly forever

Cons: Can be a fire hazard if put somewhere it can be knocked off

Ive used these on many of my tanks there great to create a basking spot with a good halogen light Ive recently have hooked it up to a lamp stand so now it sits perfectly over the tank without having to move it when I open the tank

Works well

posted 5 years ago

I use this to heat my temporary tank when I am cleaning my turtle tanks. It works well and serves as a good back up if I get a "foster" turtle that can't go into the regular tank right away.

Pros: Works well as a backup

Cons: slips

Fantastic

I like this clamp a lot. I have never given in and bought a full screen lamp, but this works so well instead. In addition it was much cheaper!

Pros: excellent, reasonably priced

Cons: none
