I'm surprised by the other reviews. Our vet (who is an iguana vet) recommended we get a heat rock with an auto shut-off to help with digestion and keeping him warm. Our rock shuts-off every so often on its own. We've had no indication of burning and our iguana does every BUT sit on it all day.

As a leopard gecko owner, I strongly dislike this product. The burn rate for leo's is pretty high. I recommend a heat pad over a heat rock any day.

These tend to run a bit too hot for most reptiods. a heating pad is usually a safer choice for your little friends.
