These will last for a little while, but ironically don't work well in high humidty environments - once they get a little moisture internally they fail. They also need to be very close to the substrate to correctly gauge the actual humidity/temp your herp is experiencing, and the enclosure should have a few (hot/cool/basking spots). I prefer digital temp/hydrometer combos, Fluker's makes a good one, and honestly the cheap home ones work great too.

I have one of these for each of my tanks and they were great. I tried to remove one from a cracked tank and it still works but I have to hold it in place so they are not removable and I will have to get another one. The sticky thing only works for one tank and once you remove it it wont stick again and I am not sure if i can use velcro or something, right now I have it held on with a fat rubber band. Definately get one if you have reptiles!

i had this when i had a lizard and then a hermit crab. they both died, but i dont think it had anything to do with the humidity levels, i had them for quite awhile. it attaches easily and is very easy to read and is accurate.

I have used these through the years for both Hermit crab and small lizard habitats and have been quite happy with their readings.

It works. And it looks good. I keep one in my ball python's terrarium to monitor humidity. She doesn't seem to mind it.

Cons: moving it from one location to another in the terrarium isn't easy
