These are great, they let the air in and the felines out!

I own a good few of these things myself, and with my corn snakes they're -great-! I absolutely love them. They keep the curious cats out, while still making it easy for you to get a good glance at whatever the little guys inside are doing.

Some bad points to the product however, would be the fact that if you need a higher humidity level in the cage, the screen allows really great airflow which decreases that humidity. So if you've got a snake in shed, double or triple the times you're misting them. Also, there isn't really any sort of locking mechanism, so this would probably work really well for a ground dwelling reptile (or fuzzy thing), as opposed to a snake that's going to get up and shove the lid up to get out. :)

I have this on all my tanks and am glad I do! It came with the turtle tank, but I had to get it separately for the lizard tank. It helps to keep them in and keep out the other pets, like my moms kitten who I find sitting over top the turtles every day! You really need one of these to keep lizards and turtles in to!
