(4.6 out of 5, based on 5 reviews)

Reptiles are among the more exotic pets - and owning them can be a very fascinating and rewarding experience. Each book in the Reptile and Amphibian Keeper's Guides provides basic information on reptiles and specific instructions on care. Each book begins with a description of the subject animal's natural history, distribution, life expectancy, and notable characterieistics. The information that follows focuses on selecting a good specimen, determining the sex, providing proper caging, nutritious feeding, health care, and steps owners need to take if they plan to breed. As part of the larger Series, Corn Snakes describes how these brilliantly colored harmless snakes do well in captivity - if their owners know the fundamentals of housing, feeding, and general care. The book also describes the many subspecies native to both North America and Europe. There are approximately 50-75 full-color photos throughout. Paperback / 48 Pages / 5 5/8 x 8 3/16 / 1999

A decent enough book

posted 6 years ago

an OK basic species book, but for more bang for your buck, I suggest Kathy Love's cornsnake books. Better, more informative reads.

Pros: covers the basics

Cons: doesn't get into particulars
