I have 3 leopard geckos and I wouldn't dream of using any other type of substrate. Cage liners don't have small parts that are easily ingestable and therefore cause impaction. Also, they are machine washable (although I would skip the dryer as they may shrink!) and easy to disinfect. Sand, wood chips, and other particulate substrates may be more aesthetic and realistic in a terrarium, but the health hazards and difficult of clean-up far out-weigh a pretty set-up.

I've used this liner in many a terrarium...those containing snakes, chameleons, and a variety of lizards. It is indeed extremely durable and versatile, and it can either be washed with soap and water or simply vacuumed clean. I would definitely recommend this product to others!

We started out using desert sand for our leopard gecko and switched to this. He seems to like it better and get around eaiser. We have spares so you can just take out the dirty one, throw in the clean one. They are easy to clean and reuse.

This liner will work in a bunch of different aquarium type homes. We used it for the pets the kids brought home. Hermit Crabs, lizards etc.
