Cathartic book for those who have lost a bun
posted 6 years ago
I read this sweet book after my first two bunnies had died within seven months of each other. I had taken in another rabbit who was going to be surrendered to a shelter, but I wasn't feeling very connected with her. When I read this book, I realized why--I was still grieving. I was amazed at the tears that were triggered by this little story. This book helped me appreciate the time I had with my first four-leggeds, and I was able to let go of the pain of the loss I had been feeling. Kathy Smith (Rabbit Health in the 21st Century) writes an engaging tale from the perspective of Murray the rabbit. Very enjoyable, even after multiple readings!
Pros: heartfelt, comforting to those who have lost a bun, lovely illustrations
Cons: none (unless you don't like anthopomorphic stories)
