I loved using these for my pet rats. They are hard to keep entertained because they are so smart, but they really liked climbing in and out of these things and hiding inside. They chewed on them occasionally, which I'm sure helped keep their teeth to a reasonable length, but they mostly treated these as a home rather than food.

My ham loves her edible house. She has hollowed it out very nicely and widened the front door, and it is good for wearing down her teeth.

The only thing I'm concerned about is whether the house is absorbing any urine that may be inside or around the outside... doesn't seem too sanitary.

Pros: Great for chewing to wear down teeth - safe for hams to eat.

It took a couple of days to get used to it being there, but once the little guy was comfortable with it, he ripped the roof right off and ate it!

Needed something to keep a rat happy while in her cage as she is used to being out. This keeps her from scratching herself out of boredom. So far the house is a good thing.

Pros: My rat took to eat immediatly

Cons: It is going fast

My hamsters love these shacks. They can 'customize' by creatively chewing, but still love to snuggle up in them.

Pros: Occupies bored rodents
