There is one kind made with more flexible plastic than the others. The hard plastic breaks in the winter and is no good. The flexible one doesn't teach Dog to have a gentle mouth with birds, but is the only kind that will last through the winter. Some friends have demonstrated difficulty in throwing, resulting in unplanned tree climbing.
