Like it or not

These bones are a great idea and honestly as with most things in the animal world some dogs like it some dogs don't. If they do like it - they love it. These are great for dogs that are really heavy chewers and they last a long time even for dogs that are bent to devore it!
Pros: Safe, good for teeth
Cons: Some dogs don't like it

Great Alternative to Rawhide Chews
posted 5 years ago
This bone helps to keep teeth clean and control plaque and tartar build-up. As it gets chewed on, the edges get worn and rough, which helps to clean the teeth. This bone is not edible, although your dog may ingest small pieces of the bone while chewing. The Nylabone company states that these pieces are non-toxic and will safely pass through your dog's system. Eventually, the bone's edges get too rough and worn down and I throw the bone away and get a new one. This can take 6-8 months to happen. My dogs enjoy chewing on it. I have multiple bones laying around the house, and this one is a favorite for all of my dogs. It does get dirty easily because the rough ends pick up fuzz and dog hair, so I rinse it off if I notice it getting full of fuzzies. Once in awhile I put it in the dishwasher. I definitely recommend this bone to dogs that like to chew.
Pros: Long Lasting, Dogs Love Chewing On It
Cons: Can Get Too Rough On the Edges Eventually

Every dog should have a Nylabone

I recommend that every dog that is adopted from our shelter gets a Nylabone. They can chew without being destructive and the bone doesn't break. Helps clean teeth too.
Pros: Dogs can't destroy them
Cons: None

A great idea
posted 4 years ago
My dogs will fight if rawhide is in the game so for that and other reasons we don't use it. But as nylabone lovers they are crazy about the shape of this one. They seem to last forever and they will pick them up at the end of the evening and gnaw away during my TV time--which is great for me--no annoying squeakers! We love these.
Pros: A canine favorite
Cons: none

What happened to rawhides?
posted 5 years ago
Chewing time is a great time to add some nutrition to a dog's diet. Instead of nylon, why not natural bone or rawhide or a stuffed kong? These are great in a crate when left alone to chew on because they shouldn't break, and are mess free.
Pros: Entertaining
Cons: no nutritional value
