My labrador retriever puppy loves this Kong better than the traditional. It keeps him busy for hours and also keeps him from chewing my shoes and furniture. However, he does like to toss it around and it is fairly heavy. It can be covered with peanut butter or other creative foods, but my dog enjoys it plain just as well. It is great to give to him when he has to go into his crate. Keeps him busy and out of trouble. I highly recommend.

My husband brought this home to our dog as a gift when he returned from an out of town trip. At first we used the cheese spray from a can that it was intended to be used with. Our dog really liked it, but to save cost, we began filling the openings with our peanut butter (no nuts). He enjoyed this just as well. We only experienced two problems with this. After either the cheese or the peanut butter dried down in the grooves, it was very hard to wash out - (I soon learned to just leave it soak in a sink of dish detergent overnight). I do now know what happened to our Kong, but for some reason the rubber just began disolving and became very sticky and peeled off like bubble gum as though some form of a chemical agent was attacking the rubber. It had never been cleaned with anything besides dish detergent. Our dog does miss his Kong. Since he enjoyed it so much and it did help to clean his teeth, we will be getting another one. Am looking forward to seeing if a new one holds up better, or if the rubber on it breaks down like the first one did. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

My puppy can get treats I stick in the toy out within 10 seconds and then he's bored...needs deeper ridges.

I am a dental hygienist, and I do find this product effective. Although, unlike many Kong products, you may not want to stuff this one. The design is not structured to keep 'inside' so it can be rather messy. Which in turn makes your dog less likely to play with it.
