Used carefully it's a miracle tool

posted 5 years ago

The Shedding Blade has been in my family for over twenty years and is now being used on my third loved dog, who is Rosco, my sister's dog. I've kept the leather handle oiled so it wouldn't dry out and crack. This tool has been used on both long- and short-haired dogs. I try to use it outside because it rapidly removes a quantity of hair. It's a sharp tool so you have to beware of how you draw it across your dog's skin. Use it carefully. You have to use it where the dog's skin is smooth or else you have to smooth the skin with one hand and draw the tool across with the other hand.

Pros: Removes the dry undercoat quickly

Cons: Use carefully as it's a sharp tool

Love the shedding blade for larger animals

posted 5 years ago

I have used the large size when I had donkeys-boy did they love it! It seemed to conform over their bodies and quickly and effectively removed loose hair and dirt. Worked beautifully. I also used it on a Shephed i had, on the main part of his body it worked very well. I think it is a bit harsh for much smaller animals though.

Pros: very effective

Cons: not best for smaller animals
