I've quit using a brush on Minky's Pom coat. She prefers this comb, and it works better. It's much easier to make sure the undercoat is mat- and tangle-free with a comb than a brush. Any mats can be gently worked out with this comb, too. She mostly enjoys being combed, until I get to her sensitive back legs.

This works well on the areas of your dog which have thicker, downier fur. It's very durable and inexpensive.

This is a very effective comb, scaled down for the smaller breed dog. I wish it had the ergonomic handle the larger tools do, to make it more comfortable to hold and use.
