It appears to depend on staining the dog's coat darker, but every dog I used it on I noticed no effect.
I found it difficult to apply because it did not lather or absorb well. I was not impressed! Only plus was the yummy cloves smell.
Pros: Smells good
Cons: Not easy to use, no effect on color
