Okay product, but prefer using a different kind.

posted 4 years ago

I've used these in the past, and they were okay to use, but not great. The one I had didn't do a real nice cut. It's like the blade wasn't sharp enough and would leave little pieces of nail attached that should have been cut.

Most of the time I ended up using a horse hoof cutter for my dogs because it was a quicker and did a nicer cut. Even on my small dog I would use the horse hoof cutters.

It definitely does the job if you need it to, but I've found a different product I like better, which is set up more like a scissors.

Pros: Something needs to be used, and this works okay; not real expensive

Cons: Doesn't seem to do a nice cut.

Adequate nail clipper

posted 4 years ago

This will clip thick toenails, but by the time I get it positioned properly, Big Dog is nervous and retracting his paws. The angle for use is a bit awkward for me. I switched to different kind, but still keep this as a backup.

Pros: Works well enough

Cons: Not the most ease of use

Not my favorite

posted 4 years ago

I prefer a regular nail clipper for cat nails, but we do use these for dogs, I really do not like how they ten to chip and crack the nails. I guess filing would be the only option to prevent this.

Pros: -

Cons: -

Dogs don't like their nails trimmed

posted 4 years ago

If the dogs aren't quite, then the dogs will fidget and it maes it hard to use with one hand. You have to be careful not to cut the nails to short.

Pros: gets the job done

Cons: not easiest thing to use
