My Royal Princess Chews

My Royal Princess provides chewing satisfaction for the right-sized dog.
August 25, 2010 6:44 pm | By Zootoo Editor Flinn D.
My Royal Princess, by Nylabone, is a hard plastic chew toy that — for some inexplicable reason — is designed in the shape of a Menorah. Or maybe a wishbone. With its name, hot pink color, and flashy packaging, the product is clearly marketed to a posh pet crowd. But the product itself has a few notable drawbacks.
First, the size and shape of the toy are bizarre, and both combined to make the chew less than appealing to our tester dog. Second, when considering the toy from the perspectives of practicality and safety, make sure that your dog is the right size for the toy. Aggressive power chewers, especially larger dogs, may be able to break off larger pieces of the bone, which could then cause a choking hazard.
As a bonus, the small plastic bristles on My Royal Princess — and all Nylabone toys — stimulate dog’s gums and satisfy their instinct to chew. Moreover, the bristles act as a doggie dental floss, massaging the gums and removing pieces of food that have gotten wedged between their teeth.
In short, if you decide to give My Royal Princess a try, be sure that your dog is the right size for it.
Pros: Small bristles stimulate gums, acting as canine dental floss.
Cons: As with any dog bone, watch closely for any choking hazards.

Great Puppy Toy

I just love Nylabones, they are the best toys for aggressive chewers. I got his cute pink toy for my puppy when she was a pup, and she loved every minute of it. Of course she did out grow it, but I have also used with some of the litter's that I have hand raised for the Utah Lab Rescue. Great puppy toy.
Pros: Durable Toy

Cashew enjoyed chewing this but when I picked it up, the plastic ends were very rough and sharp where she had chewed it. I took it away from her. I wonder if my basset had gotten ahold of it when I wasnt looking and chewed it up.
Pros: pretty, kept dog busy
Cons: got rough
