Great way to add hay variety to Bun's diet
posted 5 years ago
Much like the review I wrote for the Orchard Grass, the Brome hay has been a great supplement to Percy's hay diet. She eats just about anything, she's got a great appetite and while she doesn't go to town on this as much, I like adding the taste, roughage and scent variety to her unlimited hay resources. I get boxes of Timothy and supplement with small bags of the Orchard and the Brome. Mixing it together, it all gets eaten and enjoyed.
Pros: Great for variety
Cons: Bunny doesn't like it as much as Timothy

A different choice of hay
posted 4 years ago
My vet recommended Bunny Brome as an excellent alternative to the other hay choices. Although it's called Bunny Brome, it's good for all small animals. After struggling to find a store that carries it, I offered it to all of my guinea pigs. Some of them reluctantly ate it when no other hay choices were available, but given a choice, none of them selected it first. As with all Oxbow products, it was packaged nicely and was the contents was fresh.
Pros: vet recommended, fresh, healthy
Cons: least favorite of all hays, difficult to find

Not a Big Hit with Bunny
posted 4 years ago
I bought a bag of Oxbow Brome Hay to mix with his Timothy and Orchard Grass. He absolutely did not like it. He picked out all of the Timothy and Orchard grass and left a big pile of Brome hay in his hutch. It smells good, but not as sweet as Orchard grass or Timothy. I am disappointed that he didn't like it because it seems like a good, nutritious hay to blend with his Timothy.
Pros: Nutritious
Cons: Rabbit didn't like it

A crowd pleaser
posted 5 years ago
While the hay is brownish green, it smells fresh and the bunnnies love it. when one of our buns is off his hay, he will always nibble on the broome and that gets him eating his hay again.
Pros: Buns love it
Cons: None
