A treat I don't feel bad about giving

posted 6 years ago

I give these nutriberries to our timid cockatiel who, I kid you not, is afraid some treat sticks (the ones that hang from the top of the cage swing when the bird tries to eat, which scares him). Here's all that treat stick goodness, plus, depending on the formula, some dried fruits and/or vegetables in a nonthreatening form. He loves them. Some of them smell so good, I've been tempted to take a bite. And nutriberries seem more like recognizable bird food than some treats so I don't feel like they are junk food that I should feel guilty about feeding the bird. He's far more likely to eat dried fruit when it's concealed in a nutriberry than by itself. Getting this cockatiel to eat any fruits or vegetables is a challenge.

Pros: Bird loves them, he has to work a little to get his treat because of shape

Cons: occasionally bird drops whole nutriberry on bottom of cage

Nutri-Berries are a favorite treat

posted 6 years ago

Our cockatiel loved these treats. They're easy to feed, though he sometimes preferred to have them broken apart as they are rather large. Overall, a pleasant smelling treat that sometimes encouraged the bird to eat his regular rations when a Nutri-Berry was crumbled on top.

Pros: Easy and convenient to feed

Cons: May require breaking apart to entice bird to eat them

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
